Evil Hinko (aka Ivo Hinkel) is back with another 3 tracker for rock solid, Gedankensport. The stand out cut here is the “Motorcitysoul Remix” of the title track, complete with deep, lovely keys, compelling beats and an uplifting, airy vibe that will easily lift any dance floor to the heavens and back. Quality release.

One of the first tracks the turned me away from house, and onto techno was the E.G. remix of “An Accident in Paradise” by Sven Vath. E.G., like Spicelab, L.S.G., Snakemen and some many others are all pseudonyms of the man, Oliver Lieb. Both cuts here rock with hard, minimal beats and a ton of atmosphere. Can’t keep a legend down.

Fierce new pairing between Detroit Pioneer, Blake Baxter and German producer extraordinaire, Marc Romboy. “Version 1” is all you need to know about, with its fierce electro synths, driving beats and Baxter doing his call and response thing that is sure to destroy any dance floor. Total destroyer.

Double LP from one of the most prolific producers on the EDM scene, the Timewriter. The set opens with “Zero”, a lush, lovely, slice of deep tech house, and progresses through, “Heartstring”, an emotive masterpiece, and “Revealing the Sound”, an amazing, chunky house destroyer. Another solid effort from Plastic City and Timewriter.

While the point of this release was the two remixes (from Daniel Stefanik and Jackmate), the stand out here is the “Marlow’s Cutz & Pieces” mix, subtle, trippy keys and simple, compelling, jazzy flute interludes. Try this in you next late night, early morning set. Total class.
